Shipping & Returns

Freight Policy

John F. Mahaney Co. will prepay freight on all shipments. Freight charges will be added to the customer's invoice. We pass along great savings on freight by utilizing the carriers that we have negotiated volume discounts.

Damaged Shipments & Shortages

The customer is responsible for carefully examining all shipments before signing a bill of lading or delivery sheet. The customer must note all damages and shortages when signing. If the customer detects any damage or shortage in the shipment, this damage or shortage must be recorded on the bill of lading or the delivery sheet and the carrier's driver must sign and acknowledge this record. The customer must retain a copy of the signed bill of lading or delivery sheet and initiate a claim with the carrier at once.

Any damages or shortages of goods delivered after the bill of lading or deliver sheet has been signed (acknowledging to the transportation company that the goods were delivered in good condition) cannot be accepted for a claim at a later date.

The customer must retain any cartons, packages, or related data until inspection has been made by the carrier. Any claims involving concealed damage or shortage or a wrong part received that are not reported within 30 days of the invoice that will not be honored by John F. Mahaney Co.
